Beverley Ann Powles (Kohler) June 8, 1936 – May 8, 2025 It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of Beverley Ann Powles (Kohler) on May 8th, 2025, in Peterborough, ON. Beverley passed away peacefully following complications from a stroke suffered on February 4th, 2025. Born on June 8th, 1936, in Toronto, ON, Beverley lived a life rich in curiosity, learning, and service. She was a devoted wife to Percival Powles for 65 years, a loving mother to Jane (Stephen), Carolyn (Clay), and Colin (Jenny), and a proud grandmother to Laura, Carlisle (Christoph), Andrew, Carson, Grace (Eric), Greg (Shelby), Alysse, and Ben (Kennedy). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Ian, Zoey, Heidi, and Charlie. Beverley is also survived by her brother Gary Kohler (Donna) and her sister Lynne Thrower (Stewart) as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. A graduate of Trent University with an honours degree in History, Beverley brought her passion for the past into every aspect of her life. She was an avid reader, enthusiastic traveler, and lifelong learner. Her adventurous spirit led her and her family on sabbaticals across Australia, England, and North Carolina—experiences that shaped and enriched all their lives. Beverley was deeply engaged in her community, generously volunteering for a wide variety of charities including Meals on Wheels, The Art Gallery of Peterborough, St. John's Anglican Church, Douro Library, Hutchison House, Lang Pioneer Village and many more. Beverley immersed herself in activities such as bridge, curling, knitting, spinning, weaving, and gardening as well as singing in the church choir for many years. She was also the first female president of the Quaker Park Tennis Club, a role that reflected her leadership and love of both community and tennis. A proud and lifelong Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan, Beverley brought the same passion and spirit to cheering on her team as she did to all areas of her life. Beverley’s legacy is one of intellect, warmth, and quiet strength. Her vibrant presence will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
