Louise Belle Lukianchuk Louise Belle Lukianchuk (nee: Marsala) passed away peacefully in the afternoon of Sunday April 19, 2026 in the palliative wing of PRHC. She was continually surrounded by loving family and friends. In her last hours, her youngest daughter read a favourite story - 'My Mother is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World’, which was always true of Louise, inside and out. Louise's last week was full to the brim with the love she had so bountifully given throughout her 85 years. She was blessed with meaningful visits with her closest family and friends, full of joyful memories and laughter, warm cuddles, great sentiment, and more than a little dark humour! She was the woman we knew, admired, adored, and respected right up to the very end. Visits represented a tiny fraction of the outpouring of love she received this week. The phone calls, texts, posts and emails that flooded in meant the world to her and she finally understood how special she was to so very many people. She was surprised, humbled, and absolutely tickled pink! We all gave her the standing ovation of a lifetime. Love for Louise and the love she inspired will be carried forward in the hearts and lives of all who knew her, especially her children: Cindy Scott (aka River ElMare), Jennifer Lukianchuk (Ralph Dickey), Corey Scott (Irina Pavich), Marsala Lukianchuk (Chris Polzer) and her 'other daughter' Jenn Auld; her grandchildren: Nicholas Trebilcock, Jakai Scott ElMare, Breanna McCarty-Scott, Raven ElMare Scott, Simon Philpot, Elleanna Scott and Miles Philpot; her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Penny Marsala, her 'other brother' Dan Buchanan, her niece Ginette Marsala and nephew Jason Marsala; and her treasured lifelong friends, Jeanette Harrod and Helen Watt. Louise was predeceased by her beloved and dearly missed husband, John Lukianchuk, her cherished parents, Joe and Grace (nee Wickett) Marsala, and her adored lifelong friend, Carol Hughes. Louise loved the community in which she lived, including the neighbours whose kindness knew no bounds and the librarians who always went the extra mile to ensure she was well stocked in her treasured books. If you are one of the many people whose lives she brightened and you would like to honour her life, we humbly suggest you follow in her footsteps by reading to a child, sharing a song with someone, taking a nature walk, being kind to an animal, calling a loved one or donating to any animal, environmental or children's charity. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
