Michael Millan

A Life Well Lived Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Baba and Great Baba Michael John Millan passed away suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025. Dad had a quiet and strong presence. He had a contagious smile and a friendly demeanour. Dad loved to be active, golfing, travelling and fishing at the cottage. Dad spent many Thursday nights cheering on the Peterborough Petes. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. We often heard stories about growing up in Kingston and his adventures with his siblings. Dad met his soul mate, Evy, and they shared a life for 45 years. She was his partner and the love of his life. As a couple, they raised daughters Christina (Michael) and Stella. His family was most important to him. Dad loved spending time with his grandchildren, Christian (Suzanne), Michael, Alexandra and Natasha. He adored his great-grandchildren: Rex, Jack and Blakely. He spent many hours at the arenas and on the fields, cheering each of them on. He shared his love of sports, fishing and boating with his family. Son of the late Norman and Marie Millan of Kingston. He will be sadly missed by his siblings: John (Bella), Mary Smallgange (Tom), and Paul, and sister-in-law Kathy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers: Fran, Dennis, Leo, Jerry, Anne, Sister Norma, and Jim. Dad worked as an intermediate teacher and Vice-Principal at many schools for 32 years at the Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board. Dad spoke highly of his colleagues and was always happy to see former students succeeding in their careers. Dad said, “I have lived a good life,” and has left us all with wonderful memories that we will cherish always. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home – 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm with Words of Remembrance at 2:30 pm.
