Ricardo "Rick" Crognale

Ricardo (Rick) Crognale Born on July 18, 1967 – October 9, 2021 It is with great sadness that the family announces Ricks sudden death on Saturday, October 9th 2021 at PRHC at the age of 54 after a brief illness. Rick is survived by his brother Michael and father, Bruno living in the community of Curve Lake. He was the eldest son of Maxine (nee Taylor) deceased and Bruno Crognale. Rick will be remembered by his Zio Pepino and Zia Maria Crognale in Italy, Cameron Taylor (Blanche) in Garden River, Ontario, Aunt Carol Taylor (Dixon) in Buckhorn and Marjorie Taylor (Warren dec.) of Curve Lake. Special friendship with Vincent Pawis and employee of White Buffalo Road Healing Lodge OF Shawanaga First Nation. He will be missed by his cousins in Curve Lake, Orillia, Toronto and Italy. Rick was born and raised with his brother Michael in Toronto by his parents Maxine and Bruno. His parents believed that education was a solid base to anything that you wanted to achieve. The family moved to Curve Lake, and he attended college at Sir Sandford College Business Administration and then specializing in Human Resources. He continually took courses and training relating to his employment. He then worked for the Federal and Provincial governments in Toronto and Ottawa and then branched out to aboriginal organizations and First Nations. He was currenting working for Vincent Pawis in White Buffalo Road Healing Lodge in Operations Manager. He believed in the work that Mr. Pawis and the programs he delivered. He took out time to spend attending ceremonies, fishing and hunting with Mr. Pawis in his community. He was consistent with learning new skills and experiences. Rick loved to walk by the water and drove sometimes a great distance to get to it. The water gave him a calming effect to his busy schedule. He travelled across Canada for his work and enjoyed the experience. One of his greatest experiences was travelling to Italy with his father and brother. Family visits were exchanged which he enjoyed especially with his cousins from Italy. Rick loved to cook. He barbequed, made spaghetti sauce and pizza. He also liked to go out to restaurants to enjoy his favorite Thai dishes. He shared one of his specialities, Kraft dinner with Michael on occasion, I suppose it reminded him of his student days. Rick was supportive to Michael in his loss of vision as a caregiver. He checked on Mike giving him his medication and eye drops as well as taking him on drives to get him out of the house. He was Mikes eyes on bad days while watching the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays play. We are grateful for the time, and years which were cut short by illness to share Ricks life. A Celebration of his Life will be announced at a later date.
