Dr. Warren Maxwell John Rosborough

Dr. Warren Maxwell John Rosborough passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2026, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. His strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others will be remembered always. Warren was the beloved husband of 55 years to Brenda Rosborough, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion and partnership. Their story began at a Grade 8 graduation party at a dear friend Donna Ballantyne's (Rollie) when they were just 13 years old. Together they built a remarkable life filled with love, commitment, and cherished memories. He was a loving father to Trevor and Elissa (Rob), and a proud, devoted grandfather to his treasured grandson Cameron, who brought immense joy to his life. Warren is survived by his sister Bernice Cote (the late Richard/Dick), and by his sisters‑in‑law Cathy VanWart (late Fred), Linda Pane, and Lisa Mutch (Dale). He is predeceased by his brother Wayne Rosborough (Majda) and his sister Maurietta Hutchison (late Don). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and close friends whom he adored, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He was also a proud godfather to Amy Woodbeck and Laura Lumsden. A heartfelt thank‑you is extended to Carol and Bob Lumsden, whose extraordinary support, care, and friendship meant the world to Warren and his family throughout his journey. A special thank‑you to Raman, Saloni and the condo friends who were continuously there to provide help and care to Warren and Brenda whenever needed. The care provided by the oncology department and the palliative care team at Peterborough Regional Health Centre was remarkable. We can’t thank them enough. Warren dedicated his professional life to education, serving as a superintendent of schools and interim Director of Education, where he influenced countless students, educators, and colleagues with his leadership, wisdom, and compassion. His academic achievements reflected his deep commitment to learning: a Bachelor of Arts from Trent University (1974), a Master of Education (1980), and a Doctor of Education from the University of Toronto (1988). His contributions to education and his community will continue to resonate for generations. Above all, Warren will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his integrity, and the profound love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, learned from him, and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Myositis Canada, in honor of his beloved wife.
