Beverley Joy Ralston

It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Beverley Joy Ralston (née Randall) on March 2, 2026, at the age of 87. Beverley was the beloved wife of the late Ian Ralston, with whom she shared a devoted and enduring partnership of 64 years. She was a cherished mother to Suzanne (Raymond), Roberta, and Peter (Tanya), and a proud and loving grandmother to Sean, Seanon (Megan), Marc (Whitney), Liam, Kieran, Sierra, and Priya. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Zyla, who brought her immense joy. She was a dear sister to Teddy (Mary) and Chris (Joanne), and through them a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart. Born in Jamaica on July 31, 1938, Beverley spent her early years surrounded by the warmth of family, faith, and community - values instilled in her by her mother and carried faithfully throughout her life. In 1978, the family emigrated to Toronto, beginning a new chapter in Canada. Shortly thereafter ensued a move to Montreal, then to Kitchener, and eventually Peterborough and Keene, having built lasting friendships and deep community ties everywhere she lived. A woman of strong and steadfast faith, Beverley was deeply committed to serving others. Her life was a testament to quiet generosity, compassionate outreach, and unwavering devotion to her church and community. She led by example, passing on her values of faith, kindness, and service to her children and grandchildren. Beverley was also an avid gardener whose hands were rarely still during the growing season. She lovingly tended the gardens of each home in which she lived, as well as the gardens at her church, finding peace and joy among flowers and soil. Her gardens were reflections of her spirit - vibrant, nurturing, and full of life. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who cared for Beverley in the last 6 months, particularly Diane, Marissa, Caitlynn, Lisa, and Dr. Mallory, as well as the PRHC Palliative Care team and the staff at Hospice Peterborough. Their compassion, kindness, and support brought comfort to Beverley and her family during a difficult time. Beverley will be remembered for her strength of faith, her generous heart, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished. She will be profoundly missed and forever held in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held when she can once more be surrounded by the family, friends, sunshine, warmth, and gardens that are a testament to her life. Donations in Beverley’s memory may be made to the PRHC Palliative Care Unit or to Hospice Peterborough.
